I had very high hopes for Jumper.  It is the sort of movie that, when done well, I really enjoy.  But i’ve gotten used to not seeing my hopes fulfilled and I wasn’t surprised by the wooden performances of the actors in this movie and the major worm-holes in the plot.

I’ve never known Hayden Christenson to be a very good actor but considering Samuel Jackson’s substandard performance, I have to assume the problem was not with the actors.

The effects are not too bad and the action sequences are entertaining.

You must love Jack Black in all his glory to appreciate this movie.Totally original and ridicules at the same time. Great if you justwant to laugh at…not critique movies.Jack Black and Mos Def ‘s comedic styles truly compliment each other…they make a good team.It wasn’t the funniest movie I’ve ever seen, but it is Jack Black..what more can I say. A very unusual movie… TRY IT…YOU JUST MIGHT LIKE IT!

Be Kind Rewind not Academy Award worthy…but worth your time, even if you decide to wait for the video.

To enjoy this movie you have to ignore the storyline…which is easy since it is almost non-existent. 

The aliens and the predators were great!  The action scenes were all I expected.  The problem was that the script seems like it was written by a child.  The writers obviously wanted you to care for several of the characters but you never really were able to get there.  An awkward budding romance was cut short by an misthrow of a predators throwing knife before you cared that the romance even existed.  This sort of bungled writing happens all through the movie with a few one liners hitting home but most falling flat.  Finally, there is a misbegotten attempt at hinting at the possibility of a government conspiracy and perhaps collusion with some extra-terrestrial species.  Instead of leaving you wanting to see what happens in the sequel, it just leaves you going “huh?”

 See this movie for the action.  Don’t see it for the plot.  There isn’t one.

This is not a cheesy vampire/zombie flick.  I found it to be a thought provoking and frankly a frightening ‘what if’ movie. 

“I Am Legend”, is loosely based on Richard Matheson’s 1954 short story of the same name.  Most of earth’s population has perished due to a plague caused by a manmade virus, originally intended to cure cancer.  This manmade horror kills the majority of what it infects and what it doesn’t kill it turns into devolved humanoids that roam the streets at night and feed on the uninfected. 

Will we outsmart ourselves right into extinction? Will Smith plays Lt. Col. Robert Neville, a military scientist who is immune to the virus, hunting for a cure, and slowly being driven mad by loneliness and frustration. 

Will Smith’s performance was riveting and left me wondering how a person might cope when faced with the realization that you are quite possibly the last intelligent human left on earth. Overall, this movie was more than worth the price of admission.  It doesn’t rely on over the top CGI effects; it relies on an intelligent audience allowing themselves to get caught up in the story.  

Jumpy camera! Loved the story-line…but wished they woud have held the camera a little stiller.  So much movement made it almost impossible to focus.
The acting was good…much better movie than I expected. I really hope they come out with another…I will be there if they do!

In the following scene, a man kisses his wife who is infected with the virus.  He becomes infected immediately…now that’s love and dedication for you!

When I read the book, I was hoping that a movie would be made…now that I see the movie…I wish I would have just read the book. The acting was terrible.
