First, this movie was meant to be a lighthearted romance/comedy and in my opinion…it achieved it’s goal. The story line was very predictable, but Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher managed to pull it all together delightfully.
This movie wasn’t meant to be some great work of art and we may not remember it next year…but it gave me a few much needed minutes to sit back…be entertained…and just laugh.
A definite date movie.

Let me open this comment with the disclaimer that this movie is definitely…NOT FOR KIDS! It is a comedy filled with crude humor and male nudity… aimed squarely at an audience in the 18-45-age range…who aren’t easily offended. In my opinion this movies is not in the same class as other Apatow projects like “Knocked Up”, and “Superbad”…but it is funny. Overall this is a fun movie…the script is good…the characters are likeable…the acting was much better than I expected and I had a good time watching it…isn’t that what movies are all about!
Let me say this again…this movie is not for kids…not for people that get offended easily…probably not a first date kind of flick either. But for those of you that fall in that in-between category…go for it!

First…you have to remember…this is an Al Pacino movie…and to watch a movie with Al Pacino in it, you must love Al Pacino….he is an all consuming presence in all of his movies. I do like Al Pacino. The plot might border on the ridiculous …although it was acceptable…nothing mind shattering…it is titled 88 minutes and last considerably longer…it has all the attributes of a good movie…drama…suspense … action…they were all there…just sort of disconnected.
I truly can’t tell you where they went wrong with this flick…remember…I am just an average person stating an opinion, not a critic. Not my favorite Al Pacino movie…although, I will probably go and see
the next movie he puts out with the same enthusiasm…just because it is Al.
I went with a group of people…we all had different opinions of this movie but the one thing we all agreed on was that it is a definite rental.

No expectations with this one…wasn’t sure what to expect. The movie started very slowly and just when I was settling in the for the drudgery, the movie kicked into high gear and pulled me along with it.

I had very high hopes for Jumper. It is the sort of movie that, when done well, I really enjoy. But i’ve gotten used to not seeing my hopes fulfilled and I wasn’t surprised by the wooden performances of the actors in this movie and the major worm-holes in the plot.

Prom Night (2008) followed every scary movie cliché out there. I have seen many remakes/sequels and almost everyone of them has been a disappointment. I have to question why it seems necessary to remake so many movies…are there no original movie scripts left?
The theater was filled with an abundance of prepubescent teens thrilled with the prospect of seeing a horror flick without their parents and even they laughed at the predictability of this movie. You actually know who the killer is from the start and there is no mystery or surprise ending to help things along.
Save your cash…it is definitely a rental!

Leatherheads was not a bad movie…. it just was not a great one.
It had all the elements of a great movie…fabulous leading actors…with
strong performances, awesome costume design…true to the period,
wonderful music and visuals…but…it just was a slow mover as a movie.
Funny in parts…light hearted in others…I was entertained…just not as
much as I had hoped.
I did enjoy the movie and would recommend it…just not a favorite.

The Ruins, in my opinion, was a fabulous read and I totally enjoyed
the book. The movie stayed fairly true to the book with only a few
character changes…overall they did a good job in translating it to the
big screen.
I enjoyed the visual effects, but the terrifying sounds and screams
of the plant monsters along with their human victims helped to make
this an incredibly effective horror film. There is the cast, which is
quite good, their acting above par for the genre and as a result we
get to know and care for the characters…which is always a plus. I did
think the ending was a little weak.
All in all… it’s more original than the countless horror remakes and
sequels that have been flooding the theaters recently.
I would recommend this movie to anyone that loves to sit back with a
tub of popcorn and just escape the daily grind.

Awake now on DVD…is a surprisingly effective thriller… this rare modern horror effort that relies on suspense rather than bloodshed. The ads for this film tease you with the expectation of watching people go through the horror of physical awareness during surgery and in truth, you do experience one…but the main premise of the film ends up being irrelevant to the actual story line. First you are hit with one decent plot twist in the film…and then get the wind knocked out of you with another plot twist that caught me totally off guard. Both played perfectly into the storyline and were really well done.

August Rush is now available on DVD! A Fantastic movie with a talented
cast that also proves to be a wonderful display of how music touches us
all…if we take the time to listen. The storyline is loosely borrowed
from Oliver Twist made special by a dynamic trio of strong performances,
magical imagery and nonstop music.
An excellent movie for all ages. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and be
swept away by the magic of music.
